李坑古村，溪流潺潺。位于江西省上饶市婺源县秋口镇，这里群山环抱，如同深闺无人识的秘密花园。古村静谧而安详，村口高大的牌坊上刻着“李坑”二字。进村一看，小溪如墨笔勾勒出中街路的轮廓，成了一幅小桥流水人家的画卷。
溪水清澈见底，不仅能数鳞鱼，还能查出水草叶瓣。农妇们在溪边洗衣，被涟漪荡漾开去，如画般美丽。古树搭成荫凉，竹排像随意泼墨点，加深了水乡情致。有水必有桥，每座桥都是地道的特色：石、木、砖多种多样，将两岸民居揽于怀中。

The eastern architectural aesthetics are reflected in the tiered buildings along the riverbanks; red lanterns hang from eaves, adding a festive touch to the quiet village; simple bamboo rafts shake beneath bridges, producing a quaint sound. The misty mountains complement the arched bridges.
Tea is an essential part of visiting Li Keng. Each bridge has tea shops with one or two tables, a tea set, and some wicker chairs – creating a cozy atmosphere. The local tea is light green with hints of blue-green and tastes refreshing and smooth.
The village's history dates back to when it was renowned for its literary talents from Song to Qing dynasties. Today, visitors can still see "Changrong Wan Dai" inscriptions in some houses. This reflects not only wealth but also an open-mindedness: high houses were often reduced by one corner as locals believed tall corners could cause inconvenience to neighbors.
Li Keng is known as a representation of "small bridges over flowing water" in Jiangxi Province. I was drawn to this poetic way of life and immediately agreed to visit Li Keng upon my friend's recommendation.
From atop a hill overlooking Li Keng Village after leaving it behind: "Ancient trees stand tall amidst old mansions under distant sunbeams; smoke trails like ribbons on mountain peaks; outside waters flow like rings." I am deeply moved by ancient villages' beauty and admire their broad-mindedness that does not compete with others for length or width but opens their hearts wide for springtime breezes.
Deep courtyards are filled with stories while many homes along creeks have ornamental gardens surrounded by bamboo fences where lush green bamboo pipes crisscross across them drawing mountain springs nourishing various vegetables and colorful flowers making homes more lively than ever before there are hidden streams running through these yards clear creek water flows between narrow stones producing continuous sounds Old men & women gently wave fans chatting away beside stone seats dogs nap under flowering trees nearby birds chirp playfully among branches windows offer glimpses into rooms adorned with yellowing paintings wooden furniture inside all exudes antiquity simplicity comfort
Following the direction of meandering streams we stroll leisurely through Li Keng's streets & lanes From Ming & Qing dynasties come row upon row of residential buildings constructed alongside creeks embracing hillsides walls painted powder white tiles weathered gray roofs tiled slate-like hues appearing haphazardly yet harmoniously as if they were countless brushstrokes spreading out before us influenced by Hui culture every house showcases Hui architecture layout adapted naturally blending into surrounding landscape floor plans flexible creative spaces rich varied textures carvings wood brick intricate craftsmanship delicate lattice windows columns granite foundations rustic yet charming
Intricately crafted firewalls encircle each residence leading up front yard then inner courtyard central skywell rear hallrooms extended family sprawling generations deepening houses hence famous saying 'thirty-six courtyards seventy-two balustrades' thus 'Li-Keng' represents ancestral settlement within such an ancient hamlet
