一望之下,小bridge、flowing water和people; sky and cloud; wall, brick, tile architecture. The villagers carry shoulder yokes and bamboo baskets on the bridges, stepping on stone slabs while admiring the scenery: row upon row of well-preserved ancient houses in a variety of architectural styles with layers of depth; red lanterns hung from the eaves add a festive atmosphere to the otherwise tranquil village scene. Simple wooden boats glide under the bridges, their creaking sounds blending with those of birdsong to create an enchanting harmony. The mist-shrouded mountains across the bridge complement its beauty.

It is impossible to visit Li Keng without drinking tea. Every pair of footbridges has at least one or two teahouses - one awning, one stone table, one teapot, and several wicker chairs - providing a cozy retreat for visitors to sit back and enjoy their tea amidst the serene surroundings.

Li Keng's fame extends back through centuries as a center for literary talent from Song to Qing dynasties when officials and wealthy merchants resided there in abundance. Today still visible are signs such as "Changrong Wan Dai" (Everlasting Prosperity) hanging above some houses.

The village's unique tradition is evident in its buildings which have been preserved over time. Each house reflects local craftsmanship in woodcarvings and masonry workmanship that reveals mastery over various techniques like intricate patterns carved into walls or subtle details adorning doorways.

From Ming Dynasty onwards residents built their homes along riverside paths where they could gaze out onto natural landscapes while working within these beautifully designed spaces inspired by traditional Chinese architecture principles called "Fang Shan" (Mountain Face). These designs showcase how nature can be harmoniously integrated into human dwellings creating perfect balance between functionality & aesthetics!
